The Ministry of Manpower (MOM) is raising the minimum salary bar before they can apply for visas for spouses, children and parents. From Sept 1, they will have to earn at least $5,000 a month if they want to apply for Dependant's Passes (DPs) for their spouses and children to join them in Singapore. This is up from the current $4,000.....

Foreign talent should be people who can afford to send their kids to an international school & visit private doctors. We all know how expensive Spore is. How can someone making only $5,000 afford to support themselves AND their parents/wife & children Someone earning only $5,000 will be competing for the same jobs as the "lesser mortals" and sending their children go to the same schools as "lesser mortals" & they will be a burden for such services as the health care system.
