In the first attack many months back, Israeli air force had to abandon their plans after there was a lock on on their f-35's forcing them to dump their missiles and scramble back.

In the second attack, it was done from the inside.
Just as it was done in russia just weeks before, drones were released from containers targeting peace negotiators and air defence radars. Only when radars was put out did the israeli planes came in and dropped their missiles..

F35 is to use its stealth capability and AESA radar to “lock on” targets for the F15 so that F15E can use their high performance Kinetic performance to launch their AIM120 at high altitude to max the range of engagement
