SAP is racially discriminatory -

It is discriminatory because:

1. It disqualifies those who do not take Chinese as Mother Tongue. No need to tell you that it is the non-Chinese here who are discriminated.

2. SAP receives lots of financial aid from govt, which of course many non-Chinese will not qualify.

3. Many of the top performing schools are SAP, again disqualifying top non-Chinese students from being enrolled in SAP.

4. Isn't this just a subtle way of discriminating non-Chinese?

Heck, many of PAP's policies are racially discriminatory .....

Wrong anyone that speaks chinese can qualify. Yup my school had indians and eurasians in it.

The top performing schools are SAP because of the students not the funding. DUH! There were students that flunked the exams and had to leave the SAP schools to attend neighbourhood schools. Better to simply get rid of all elite schools like RI for eg and make them all neighbourhood schools.

The fact of the matter is this. There are good and bad students and it's better to have students of the same quality to congregate together. This is simply a fact of life. It applies in all facets of society. Take the sports schools for example. Such a school was created to group the atheletically inclined to study in a school because such a school devotes significant resources for students to develop their atheletic abilities. Students still need to have some athelete abilities before they can enroll in the school. If a student is bad in physical endeavors he won't be accepted in the sports school. Yet for some odd reason there isn't any grounds for students that lack physcial capabiities to complain that they are discriminated from attending sports school yet the basis of them not being qualified to attend such a school is the same as that of a SAP school. There are so called religious schools known as madrashas that muslim parents can choose for their children to attend. Yet the reason why there isn't any issue raised for such a school that excludes non muslims is because most muslims belong to a certain race and these students don't do well in regular classes.

In short factors like discrimination and funding etc are all simply excuses. The fact remains that the key to doing well still remains with the individual and if these individuals choose to not study and do poorly in their studies they have no one else to blame. This applies to all individuals living in this meritocratic society. Unless they advocate discriminating the majority race to allow less deserving students places to study in places of higher learning which is totally pointless.

The real reason is number 3: Many of the top performing schools are SAP, again disqualifying top non-Chinese students from being enrolled in SAP yet refusing to see that the schools are top performing because of the students. Now if these SAP schools were performing very poorly would there even be an issue about chinese and discrimination? I figure the answer is no. There are many good schools that non chinese students can enroll in and chinese students that don't speak chinese or hate speaking chinese can enroll in.

It is just simply the jealousy and just finding a reason to be offended just simply for the sake of being offended that people even bring up the SAP school issue. After all if most of the SAP schools are top schools what does that say? That chinese people are better students and have higher intelligence than other races. It would not make a difference if SAP schools didn't exist because chinese students would still come up on top. This is constantly observed in other countries like malaysia where they discriminate chinese students and in the west where the universities are topped by students of east asian descent. It is just simply jealousy and a means to try to force chinese people to somehow give way and make it unfair to them all because others are incompetent.

To summarize it for the blur fucks: using racial discrimination is just a smoke screen. It is just ppl wanting to find offence in every situation. These ppl are jealous that SAP schools are top schools and they use excuses like SAP schools get better funding. I don't think a SAP schools gets better funding just for being a SAP school. I believe it gets better funding because they produce better results. Better funding does not mean the students get better results. Like some of these sap schools probably have every student use a macbook for classes. That sounds cool but it is not because of the mac book that allows the students to get good grades. The students themselves have the intelligence and the ability to stay focused and work hard to obtain good results.

Now try to observe an alternate scenerio. Let's suppose SAP schools have bad school ranking. Most SAP schools rank at the bottom now try to imagine these people complaining of discrimination of SAP schools saying anything. They wouldn't be offended anymore. I can bet there wouldn't be anyone offended at all by these SAP schools. Who knows they might even turn around and make racist comments that chinese people are lousy students.

Political correctness and all the other BS about discrimination is just a smokescreen.

S .E Asia
1. Singapore IQ 108 ,75% Chinese, USD 59700 per capita
2. Malaysia IQ 92 ,26% Chinese, USD 15568 per capita
3. Thailand IQ 91 , 10% Chinese , USD 9396 per capita
4. Indonesia IQ 87 ,3% Chinese , USD 4666 per capita
5. Philippines IQ 86 , 1% Chinese, USD 4073 per capita

N. E Asia
1. Hong Kong, IQ 107 USD 49137 per capita
2. Taiwan IQ 105, USD 37720 per capita
3. Japan IQ 105, USD 34740 per capita
4. Korea IQ 106 ,USD 31714 per capita
5. China IQ 105,USD 8382 per capita

South Asia
1. India IQ 82 , USD 3694 per capita
2. Pakistan IQ 84 ,USD 2787 per capita
3. Bangladesh IQ 82, USD 1693 per capita

So,if I were a minority in this country I would act smart by not questioning the majority and quietly enjoy the fruits brought by them.Otherwise, you would still be living in the slums,or sitting under the coconut trees day dreaming .

SAP schools do get a bit more funding (10%) but most of these funds are earmarked for Chinese cultural programmes which is a mission of SAP Schools. Of course these schools seem rich but they do haf strong alumni who are willing to donate funds

Chinese only make up 75% or less and yet have higher IQ than taiwan. Wow.

China's IQ is brought down by the large population.

In any case can you imagine what Sg's IQ would be if they had 100% chinese.

The problem with the situation in sg is that you cannot be proud of being chinese. You have to see yourself as inferior. That's why when ppl see such stats like this will call it bs but suppose it's something that favors say the malays. Like the majority of football players are malay these people wouldn't have a problem stereotyping malays as naturally better football players for eg. It's blatant discrimination against chinese people. Anyway chinese ppl always make it despite being discriminated. After all they own majority of indonesia's economy despite being a minority and being discriminated. You somehow cannot beat them down.

Hey thanks for mentioning the alumni. It totally slipped my mind. Yes you are correct. The old boys or gals of these schools are willing to donate big bucks of course part of reason might be cos they also work in higher paying jobs and come from the richer section of society. In any case if that is the case then obviously these schools would have more funds to spend on. Why don't the alumni of neighbourhood schools donate money then? OH yes they are govt schools probably don't need donations. I am not sure if neighbourhood schools have donations for better facilities. I am sure that takes place too. It just goes to show if the donators are poor of course they wouldn't get better facilities yet i don't think that's the reason why they are pissed.

The real reason has already been given. Sap schools rank top and since sap schools are mostly chinese the age old tired and beaten racism crap is brought up again although how is it racist when schools with mostly chinese students end up tops in school ranking.

Siao eh, last time got Malay as a 1st Language and Tamil as a 1st language on offer for top non-chinese students.... however uptake was so poor that it got scrapped. This programme is still available to non-chinese students who make the cut-off score for SAP. They can still opt for Malay/Tamil as a 1st language. During my time, which wasn't long ago, two of my such classmates even had one-on-one tutoring for their 1st language modules..... who says funding not available?

Oh i see. Therefore it goes to show that the students themselves the malays and the indians that didn't even want to take up these languages. How can it be possible to have a malay SAP school for eg or an indian one if the malays and indians don't even take up these languages. Additionally many local indians themselves don't actually take up tamil. A significant number of indians take up malay including many south indians. The other indians take up chinese and those eurasian indians only learn english and do badly in their 2nd language like malay. Why isn't there any complaints for indians that take up malay? Well cos malay isn't chinese what so how to get offended?
