Every car can do highly automated robotic productions, and essentially it is not concerning weather there is such automation technology or not. Rather to highly or not so highly automate it's production is based on following factors:
Volume of production - if your brand is not the most affordable and the crazy rich (e.g. Golden Escalator) is not ordering a million of them, why would you highly automate their production?
Need to create jobs - if you are expected to give jobs to the desperate jobless outside your factory, why would you highly automate your production?
Quality / Customer Satisfaction - are your customer happier with more manual or robotic manufactured qualities?
Japs used to be the most highly automated robotic car makers and their orders used to be rising forever without much competition and only fastest automatic production can satisfy demands, but sorry Bakayaros! Lucrative businesses had gone to many competitors, and your orders are down by so much. Japs badly needs jobs rather than fastest production. Europeans are in much lower production volume than Japs, the only lucky thing for them is their price tag per car is higher than Japs. The poorest sucker American already sold much or their brands and closed so much of their factories, since the time Japs were happily grabbing market from Yankees. Many British car brands are now only known to vintage collectors, more sad stories than Yankees.
In reality if there is a stable unchanged model of huge demand, a FULL automated plant that has ZERO production worker can be set up to run, and there are only technicians to keep production robots working needed. If I had not mistaken the Japs brand TEAC once had a fully automated production plant for 3.5" floppy drive, that turn-off lights and air-con and runs 24-hrs. There are only men inside during maintenance. It lasted for quite a number of years until volume for 3.5" floppy went down. The thing is too many hungry families needs jobs, too much debts unpaid. And only LUCKY now that there are still some jobs for man possible. The horrible facts is that, in e.g. electronics, there are TOO MUCH of HIGH PRECISION WORKS that you CAN NOT HIRE WORKERS to do at all. Because human are too STUPID AND SLOW & INACCURATE & INCONSISTENT, if you did not use robots to do, your production yields will NEVER be satisfactory! So human have to starve and die.
