SINGAPORE : Health Minister Khaw Boon Wan says his recent hospitalisation for a heart bypass assured him that Singapore's health system is of a high standard.
Mr Khaw said this was the feedback he received from patients of all classes he met during his frequent walks as part of his cardiac rehabilitation programme.
In his blog, the Minister recalled meeting the husband of one open-heart surgery patient assuring him that he's in good hands as the doctors there were top-class.
The man's wife had experienced first hand a high standard of care.
Mr Khaw said he also read the many words of gratitude and positive feedback on the ward staff on the cards pinned on the ward notice boards.
He said it made him proud both as a Singaporean and a Health Minister. - CNA/jy
