"Hahahaha so what can u do about it?

The mass importation of low quality foreigners is the cause of most of our problems today-stealing jobs from locals(using fake degrees), causing high property prices, long wait for HDB flats , lack of places in educational institutions, shortage of hospital beds ,drop in productivity/quality and ultimately destruction of Singapore's good name and reputation.

In many low end condo's, the Pinoys are also a major cause of air and noise pollution.
They hog almost all the BBQ pits and invite huge number of outside Pinoys and fill the place with smoke and loud noises.Sometimes the smoke is so much that it becomes almost impossible to play tennis or basketball ect2.When the BBQ areas are closed, they will adjourn to their rented units and create a ruckus unti 2 to 3 am.
I'm waiting for the day when parts of Sillipore will be like Makati. When I stayed in Makati, I used to hear shooting almost everynight, sometimes from automatic rifles.
Just wait for the day when voilent crimes and killings will shoot up.

Has anything been done to reduce the number of FT's?
Rather than using our energy to bash each other(including TPL), focus on the enemy within.

The killings have already started.

Before I left S'pore a year ago, I know of 9 fellow road-cyclists who got run down and killed by those fucking reckless foreign drivers during the preceding 3 years!

Weather situation may get worse: Vivian Balakrishnan
AsiaOne
Sun, Jun 05, 2011
By Angelina Dass
Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister for the Environment and Water Resources considers today's flash floods worse than those that happened at Orchard Road in June 2010.
He said that it "can be safely presumed that the weather patterns in Singapore have changed" and that rainfall may get worse in the future.
"It is very likely that our drainage systems will have to be redesigned to cope with such intense flashes."
He was speaking to the media on June 5, Sunday about the weather and flash floods that occurred this morning.
A total of 124mm of rain fell over central areas of Singapore - this is equivalent to 77 per cent of the amount of rainfall that usually falls in the month of June.

PUB explains flash floods
By Saifulbahri Ismail | Posted: 05 June 2011 1943 hrs

SINGAPORE: The extent of the floods caused by heavy and intensive rainfall on Sunday morning caught the authorities by surprise, as it was something which national water agency PUB had not seen in the last 25 years.

PUB explained that the flash floods were caused by two bouts of heavy rainfall.

The first started slightly past 6am, and second downpour, which was more intense, occurred at about 10.30am.

About 65mm of rainfall was recorded within 30 minutes.

This was worse than the one on June 16 last year, which had 100mm of rainfall within two hours.

PUB held a news conference on Sunday afternoon, saying it had mobilised staff and contractors to the flooded sites once it received alerts of heavy rain.

PUB also deployed tankers to affected areas to pump out the water from carparks located in basements of buildings.

PUB chief executive Khoo Teng Chye said he is studying some possible solutions to prevent future occurrences.

"These include, possibly, building a big retention pond near where we can then trap some of the peak flows," Mr Khoo said.

"The other alternative is to really create a diversion canal from where this pond is to the Singapore River.

"But given Singapore's built-up situation, these are very, very expensive schemes."

Minister for the Environmental and Water Resources Vivian Balakrishnan inspected the flood areas at Tanglin Mall.

Speaking to reporters later, Dr Balakrishnan outlined five key areas he would focus on, to deal with the flood situation.

First is the presumption that weather patterns in Singapore has changed.

"Personally, I think our weather has changed. I'm actually psychologically prepared for it to get worse," Dr Balakrishnan said.

"You're reading with nature and you're dealing with the weather; you have to be prepared that there is a limit to human engineering and what we can deliver.

"But having said that, let us make sure we have done the best we can and within those limits, then cope with whatever else that nature throws at us."

Dr Balakrishnan said because of the changing weather conditions, his ministry will need to review planing norms, which includes designing of drainage systems.

He added his priority now is to maintain safety along drains and to ensure roads are passable even during heavy rainfall.

Dr Balakrishnan said he also intends to ensure buildings are better prepared to cope with the occurrence of floods.

Barely a year after a spate of flooding crippled businesses in Singapore抯 prime shopping district of Orchard, it was hit by another spate of heavy flooding this morning which caused retail malls to be emptied and traffic brought to a standstill.
According to accounts from eye-witnesses, Tanglin Mall was especially hard-hit as its basement and ground levels were flooded from 9am onwards which saw the usually crowded mall becoming deserted:

Another netizen was having his breakfast at a food court at Orchard Towers when the flood waters seeped in suddenly without warning:

揑 don抰 even know it抯 raining outside, the water just came in without warning. Siao liao, my new shoes and bag are now spoilt by the muddy water,?/strong> he quipped.
Orchard, Scott, Paterson and Tanglin roads were also submerged in flood water as traffic was brought to a standstill for more than an hour as the usually crowded shopping district is turned into a 慻host town?

It is not known how much losses the businesses will incur this time. When Orchard was flooded last year, PUB blamed it on clogged debris in the drains with PAP ministers taking turns to lecture Singaporeans for littering in public.
PAP de facto leader Lee Kuan Yew even chided Singaporeans for expecting everything to be 憄erfect?and said:
揘o amount of engineering can prevent flooding.?/strong>
Such rampant flooding is almost unheard of before 2009 with some Singaporeans speculating if the Marina Barrage might be a possible cause.
View photos of flooding elsewhere on TR Facebook photo album here.

About 1 year ago, when Orchard Rd flooded, the MIW claimed that it was due to some blockage of the drainage system and it only happens 50 years once.

Rightfully, the MIW together with PUB has got about 1 year's time to seriously look into this problem and come out with a concrete solution but today it has proven all these million dollars leeches has been sleeping in their job and have not fxxxing idea what to do about it and leave the existing problem to "heaven's will".

Now, 1 year later the same flooding occurred and this time even worst and have spread to other areas of s'pore. It's very clear that the MIW only knows how to pay lip service and give excuses ever time when things screwed up.

No thanks to the "floating ship on the roof top" of Marina Bay Sands Hotel. With or without scientific proof, this is indeed a very bad feng shui for such architecture design.

Remember that the PAP has not changed their target of increasing our population to 6.5 million(to meet their own agenda).

Imagine what it will be like than.

The Indians FT's, Pinoys and PRC's can withdraw their CPF early and return home and enjoy life while locals are left to clean up after them.
Thank You very much to the 60%.

SINGAPORE: National water agency PUB explained that the flash floods on Sunday morning were caused by two bouts of heavy rainfall.

It said this at a news conference on Sunday afternoon, which was also attended by Minister for the Environment and Water Resources Vivian Balakrishnan.

The first bout of rainfall started slightly past 6am, and second downpour, which was more intense, occurred at about 10.30am.

About 65mm of rainfall was recorded within 30 minutes.

This was worse than the one on June 16 last year, which had 100mm of rainfall within two hours.

PUB said it had mobilised staff and contractors to the flooded sites once it received alerts of heavy rain.

Meanwhile, Dr Balakrishnan outlined five key areas that he would focus on, in dealing with floods in Singapore.

Speaking after inspecting the flood areas at Tanglin Mall, Dr Balakrishnan said one of his priorities now is to ensure safety is maintained along drains.

Dr Balakrishnan stressed there's no compromising safety.

He said railings will be installed where needed, and drains covered in the short term so that no one gets hurt.

On Wednesday, a 15-year-old teenager died when he fell into an uncovered drain swollen with rainwater.

"Personally, I think our weather has changed. I'm actually psychologically prepared for it to get worse," Dr Balakrishnan said.

"You're dealing with nature, and you're dealing with the weather; you have to be prepared that there is a limit to human engineering and what we can deliver.

"But having said that, let us make sure we have done the best we can and within those limits, then cope with whatever else that nature throws at us."

Dr Balakrishnan said because of the changing weather conditions, his ministry will need to review planning norms, which includes designing of drainage systems.

He added another priority is to ensure roads are passable even during heavy rainfall.

He said he intends to ensure buildings are better prepared to cope with the occurrence of floods.

During heavy rainfall last year, the basement of Tessarina condominium was flooded.

The management there has since made improvements such as installing a flood barrier.

When the Bukit Timah canal flooded its banks on Sunday morning, the siren was activated and residents were alerted to drive their cars out of the basement, and the flood barrier was closed.

Tessarina Condominium management committee chairman Leonard Yip said: "The primary strategy for us was to lobby for improvements to the Bukit Timah canal and also for raising of Wilby Road.

"So, we believe that most of the problems will be solved".

At Bukit Timah Road, flash floods occurred at the stretch from Blackmore to Maplewood Road, making some lanes impassable to traffic earlier Sunday morning.

PUB is currently making drainage improvement works to the Bukit Timah canal.
