He Needs To Sell 40 Plates Of Nasi Lemak A Day - Just To Break Even

The HDB flats are probably designed to continuously replenish the govt coffers and to maintain the solvency of the CPF. I believe that the govt is "cheating" the citizens of their hard earned retirement savings. But the majority of the citizens have no choice. To start to correct his anomaly and to stop depriving the citizens of their CPF at age 55, do not include the cost of land in the price of HDB flats, and forthwith allow all the citizens to withdraw their CPF at age 55 or at age 60 at the latest.
The vast majority of flats will be returned to HDB, without any compensation for homeowners, when the 99-year-lease runs out.The authorities’ comments are contrary to the govt’s past promises that HDB flats are “nest-eggs” that grow in value over time. Just before the GE in 2011, then-National Development Minister Mah Bow Tan said: “We’re proud of the asset enhancement policy. (It) has given almost all S'poreans a home of their own…that grows in value over time.”

SINGAPORE – Telegram has emerged as a growing marketplace for second-hand fashion among Gen Z shoppers. Buyers are turning to the platform for its convenience and listings, and for sellers, the messaging app has become a space to scale their businesses.

The Straits Times speaks to two Telegram sellers onhow the platform is being used, from day-to-day operations to behind-the-scenes processes.

I know what you mean, and it has to do with S'poreans' fear of losing out. Such shoppers will not buy a branded shirt for $150, but may order it after the price drops by 20% for example, during a sale.
Uh yes

That is smart shopping...but we are talking about food.

If a diner just had a delicious plate of nasi lemak for say $5 and now sees another of the same dish in a similar portion selling for $6.50, he will feel that he is being ripped off.

VOTE FOR THE CHANGE(S).
Can only happen when there is coalition govt of a few parties. Then sinkies interest are of them main interest.

Correct, S'poreans are cheapskate, sometimes simple is better, just sell $2.5, just put chilli, ikan bilis and kuning fish with a thin slice of egg, cheap cheap low cost but much higher profits lol
Gone are the days of $1 nasi lemak sold by Malaysian aunties on overhead bridges.

TBH, 40 plates isn't many, unless he open only 3hrs.
Faster open faster close Faster go back Bonk Bonk Bonk ... :o-o:

The $5 nasi lemak is probably sold somewhere else. There won't be such a price disparity in the same hawker centre. The diner may not order the $6.50 variant, but just considers it too expensive. That is all there is to it.

The Elephant in the room should be.. Singapore is one of the richest country in the world..and the Per capita income is nearly 100k USD..if the per capita income is that high...why are ppl still clamouring for a few dollars meal? The people should be enjoying big fish and big meat all the time...the issue is majority of the workforce...wats the actual pay?

Sinkieland businesses are going to suffer like what’s happening in HK when their people goes north to spend.
