Lol... it took the hawkers so long to realize that they are getting screwed?

And didn't consumers point that out before? Why the fuck are we doing the work of cleaners, and yet the price of food at hawker has not gone down?

Hawkers argued that since diners are returning their own trays, the cleaners' jobs would have been lightened and the fees should be reduced.

They should have just place towels and wet tissues out there for end user to wipe and clean their own tables.

So many have called out this bullshit. Who are the ones that really benefit?

Not the consumers (they have to trouble themselves to return the trays)
Not the cleaners (their pay is reduced as they are working less)
Not the hawkers (they didn't get a reduction in the cleaning fees they pay)

The law is supposed to apply to all, so why the rich eating in restaurants do not have to clear their own table.
Ask Lee Hsien Loong and his cabinet to eat at hawkers and coffee shops everyday and show us how they clear their own table as an example for others to follow.
When was the last time a cabinet member eat at hawker or coffee shop?

Same thing for MRT and buses-peasants squeeze like sardines and spreading covid-and these people actually voted for multimillion salaried ministers chauffeured in luxurious limousines to work.
