Gaza City (Palestinian Territories) (AFP) - At least 10 explosions hit houses and cars belonging to members of the Fatah movement of Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas in Gaza on Friday, an AFP correspondent and witnesses said.

There were no immediate reports of any casualties from the blasts, which were condemned by both Fatah and its Islamist rival Hamas, which dominates the Gaza Strip.

The stage for commemorations of next week's 10th anniversary of the death of iconic Palestinian leader and Fatah founder Yasser Arafat was also targeted in the blasts which struck in the space of a few hours before 6:30 am (0430 GMT).

It is the first time in years that a public commemoration of Arafat's death has been planned in Gaza.

Abbas loyalists were ousted from the territory in 2007 and rival administrations ruled in the West Bank and Gaza.

But earlier this year Hamas and Fatah struck a reconciliation agreement leading to the formation of a government of national unity.

They are bros when they need to gang up on non-Muslims, but become instant enemies when there are no nearby non-Muslims to fight.

Yasser arafat knew nobody will finance and donate if he had sued for peace. So he continued the war with Israel. Its all about personal interest and money. The Palestinians are collaterals. Hamas doing the same. Its winner takes all. No such thing as two state solution.

Nice lab can we also organize a few explosions and blow up the parliament when Old fart dies?

When Arafat was presented with a very very generous offer from Ehuk Barak on the final implementation of Oslo leading to a statehood for Palestine, he was in 2 mind. Peace with Israel would mean an end to his source of funding. (how the hell did Arafat amassed more than $1.3b in personal wealth when Palestine hardly had any oil?) People tend to blame Israel or Ariel Sharon for the failure but it Yasser Arafat who was the one who don't want peace. If he thinks Barak's offer wasn't good enough, just simply make a counter proposal..something Arafat never did.
