Many Chinese-speaking drivers find vocational licence test challenging

For Madam Goh Yang Huang, being a private-hire driver has been a source of financial independence. But soon, the 63-year-old might have to earn her living off the roads.

As of end-May, some 23,900 private-hire drivers have yet to undergo training or pass the Private Hire Car Driver's Vocational Licence (PDVL) test - a month to go before June 30, when the one-year concession for obtaining the licence ends. The 23,900 are among some 56,300 private-hire car drivers now on the roads.

At 63, how to earn money off the roads? ha ha ha ha....walk the streets, who wants to buy?

This one rather strange statement....how on earth did these drivers drive in the road, when they are CHINESE educated...no wonder, we have accidents on the road. How to drive private hire cars like this? doesn't understand English?...you tell driver, "take me to Lagos Circle or take me to Toronto Road"? " simi lego"?? ha ha ha...maybe they will understand...take me to " mang gar kar" or " pek kio"..

If their ang mor is damn poor, they may bring u to Orchard Towers instead of Odeon Towers!
