Police say a bystander was shot near the San Francisco Pride Parade when an argument between several young men turned violent.

Police arrived at the scene after shots were fired Saturday during the San Francisco Pride Parade.
A man was shot in the arm Saturday near the San Francisco Pride Parade after an argument broke out and shots were fired.

The shooting was unrelated to gay pride events, police said, and*stemmed from an argument between two groups of young men. The argument escalated and one of the men pulled out a gun and fired four shots.*

The 64-year-old man who was shot was nearby watching the parade. He was taken to San Francisco General Hospital for treatment and was reportedly in stable condition.


Another man near the scene of the shooting was able to film with his cellphone the moment the shots rang out. In the video, people are seen screaming and running for cover.


Police arrived at the scene about 6 p.m. and detained several suspects.
