We reported here that an elderly couple ('the Lims') was forced to walk home after they paid the polyclinic fees and were left without money for transportation. When SDP members subsequently visited her at home, Mdm Lim revealed that she had worked for

Mdm Lim told us that she worked as a cleaner at two PAP kindergartens: Kim Keat and Macpherson. She added that she had received several prizes for her service.

Seen the video. For her age, she speak English rather well and probably held a much better job previously. Sad that she ended up like this. As some of the people here say, it is important to plan for retirement.

Mdm Lim told us that she worked as a cleaner at two PAP kindergartens: Kim Keat and Macpherson. She added that she had received several prizes for her service.

This is how the PAP treats its former employees - like tissue paper, discarded after use. It is shameful.

It is, however, not surprising given that the PAP Government treats elderly Singaporeans in a similar manner (except their own "retired" ministers, of course, who were, while receiving their huge salaries, also drawing their pensions).

Not only does the PAP's healthcare system not provide easily accessible medical care for Mdm Lim and her husband, it squeezes every cent from them.

And not only does it not provide social security for them, it withholds their CPF even though the couple are in their twilight years and desperately need their retirement savings for everyday use.

This is a heartless ruling party that cares more about itself than the people, one who uses the people to build up its own power and glory, and then discards us after we are no longer useful.

That is a question you have to ask her. Working at PAP kindergarten doesn't automatically make one a PAP supporter.

I wonder how many 60% PAP voters are heading towards similar destiny as her. I pity her. If she was borned in thailand, vietnam, HK, or some Nordic places her life will be much better and even best for having worked for the govt. Unfortunately because of class divide in Singapore, this became the end of it all. I wonder who she voted in last election,

yes I heard a story of someone who applied for the Pap kindy teacher job last year. She was told during interview that she HAS TO vote for her employers.

It is owned and run by the party. I will be very surprised if they are not told to do so. I would however be surprised if civil servants or GLC staff are told to do that. Anyway there is no way to check if they did so it pretty much a moot point.

Remember that Indian lady in Hougang that took the miw to Court? Reported she is a cleaner with some miw joint and notwithstanding her bravery she honoured her obligation to her employer to vote for boy boy Desmond at the BE as so disclosed by her lawyer, Ravi. Don't that tell you something.
