美国华盛顿邮报1日报道称，共享单车进入美国市场不到一年的时间里，盗窃和破坏事件已经层出不穷。一位市政府官员表示，在美国首都华盛顿特区，一些公司已损失多达50%的单车。
报道称，有华盛顿的公司证实，不少用户已经研究出如何作弊使用共享系统，比如钻预付信用卡的空子或者将没被妥善锁好的车免费骑走。这些公司表示，他们正在采取额外措施试图修复关锁和GPS跟踪功能。
