I think it was reported (said by the grandfather of the child?) that the mother is bankrupted recently too, besides lost her job? Any info how/why she got bankrupted when she still had a job back then? She invested in a failed business or played stocks/Index?

If so, they would had been quite ok financially before all these events hit them.

Apparently she suffered from schizophrenia, that could be another reason why she is bankrupt. :(
