Why didn't they visit Disneyland Paris which is only a 2 hour and 40 minute Eurostar train ride away from London? There's no need for that family to fly all the way to Southern California to visit Disneyland.
Just like McDonald's and Coca-Cola, there's no need for people from other countries to travel to the USA to eat Big Mac and drink Coke.
How about the driving experience on American Freeway? People can travel to Germany and drive on the Autobhan with no speed limit and the roads are in much better condition than the American Interstate Highway system. Try to drive more than 10 MPH above the speed limit on US Interstate and it will cost you dearly if caught by state trooper. If you don't stop your vehicle and try evade them, you'll be chased, stopped and arrested. Or, even possibly shot and killed by them with their overkill strategy.
The same can be said with Hollywood movies, people can watch them at their local cinemas or online instead of traveling to the US to watch them.
The American way of life is over hyped by Hollywood and the mainstream media. The reality of life in America is not as rosy and idealistic as being portrayed on TV and in the movies.
