Today when i look at my utilities bill, all the charges are listed and also a Water Conservation Tax of 30% water usage. Then follow by Total Charges = $200, GST 7% = $14, Subtotal = $214.

How come GST is impose on the Water Conservation Tax?

Where have you been?, now then you noticed?, like most Singaporeans they never examine their bills...they pay by " cai lu" "wealth road" aka GIRO!.

Have you noticed that the water conservation tax is based on an average in which every average household water usuage is above-average and will end up paying the WC tax plus GST?

It is purposedly calculated that way!

the only thing that reduced overnight & taking eons to climb back up is; employer's contribution for employee CPF. there was a time when employers had to chip in CPF for employees dollar for dollar. suddenly, reduced from 20% to 13%, and only recently crawled up 1.5%.

employees are still shortchanged of their rightful CPF from the employers. employees now contribute 20% CPF, employers; 14.5%.
