US officials, including the Treasury secretary, Jack Lew, have repeatedly warned their European counterparts not to be complacent about the economic risks of a so-called Grexit, and President Obama is likely to reiterate that argument this weekend. The US president is likely to be particularly concerned that Greece could turn to Russia for aid. Tsipras underlined that risk on Friday by letting it be known he was holding a phone conversation with Russian president Vladimir Putin.

Pek Kim Lui, you are right. Greeks are lazy people (like pinoys), forever looking to free load on hard working and successful countries. Scums of the earth.

russians are not stupid, they may use greece and other eastern european countries as an annex to form their own euro union. means more political power for them and blast the western euro union. maybe there will be a day that there will be no more euro dollars. all will be back to their native currencies.

great....... they can induct Turkey who is dying to be unionised
any union will do............ EuroZone or PutinZone does not matter

Greece got its ego, besides owing money to IMF and the european central banks, they are still unwilling to accept the deal the lenders propose. i see greek exit as a immense pain but if greece stay on, they will have no money to repay and will drag down the rest of euro. if you are greece or if you are the central banks, will you oust greece out?

there is a reason why G7 meets this weekend - Greece

they should allow russia back to form their original G8 but because of the war in Ukraine last year, it was ousted. bringing russia back will strengthen euro's economy, all win-win. greece impact will be cushioned as well.
