For those who like rice but concerned about the high GI(glycemic index) of rice e.g. if you are suffering from diabetes, should take a look at the Grayn Rice cooker. It is made in Malaysia. It is expensive compared to other rice cookers but you can also use it to cook pasta, noodles, potatoes, etc

Here's a review of the product http://www.rebeccasaw.com/grayns-rice-cooker-malaysia-review-price-demo-how-to-use/

Here is Grayn's website http://www.grayns.com

In Singapore you can find it at Song Cho, https://www.songcho.com.sg/products/prodlist.aspx?cateid=144#prod

Minimise grains and eat green veggies for "starch"

I've tried to replace rice in my diet. Have tried sweet potato. Have also tried spaghetti & rice that is made of quinoa. Have also tried using brown rice & Basmati rice which has a lower GI. Want to find out if using this cooker will reduce the starch even more?

This cooker is suppose to be able to reduce the starch from rice, noodles, potato,..etc. It may not be practical if you eat out most of the time but in my case I eat 90% of the time at home & where possible I use organic. So if this cooker can reduce starch, I think it will be worth the investment because I am already suffering from diabetes.

Diabetes is a very BIG problem in Malaysia & Singapore & many blame it on a diet of rice. So this can be a useful product if you your diet consists of rice.

I was actually looking for a simple rice cooker when I came across this cooker. Now I will have to do further homework & see if this is something I will get.

The key is also to exercise to regulate insulin level. I see many sinkies who can't do without rice or some sort of carbo I their diet. but it's really OK if we exercise 45minutes a day. just some stretching or brisk walking can do

Forget fancy diets, supplements, Viagra etc. Exercise is the panacea for everything.

Get on a bike or treadmill daily for 45 minutes 5 days a week and all will be well. One session per week should be high intensity intervals.

That was what I used to believe. However, exercising can only strengthen the heart but not the stomach nor the liver. These 2 organs will give way as we age. It will fail faster if we live to eat. All kind of illness will then pop up. Personally, I got acid reflux, gout ... Thankfully, it was a wake up call to take care of my diet and to use supplement to lessen the burden for my digestive system.
