The first time Ibrahim Mahamad molested the family maid, he promised never to do it again.
But just a month later, the grandfather of three was performing an obscene act in front of her and warning her not to tell his wife.
He even went on to film the young Indonesian in the shower.
Yesterday, the 51-year-old technician was jailed for a year and 10 months after he was found guilty of outraging and insulting her modesty.
During his trial, the court heard the maid had been working in the flat in Woodlands for only a week when Ibrahim began making advances towards her.
The 24-year-old was on the phone to her family on May 11, 2011 when he came up to her, rubbed her hair and hugged her around the waist.
She tried to move away but he would not let go.
A while later, she was preparing milk when he came up behind her and molested her again.
She pushed him away and ran into the toilet, where she cried for about five minutes.
The maid later told her agent about what he had done. But she did not make a police report as Ibrahim promised it would never happen again.
He broke his word.
In June, he molested her again – and told the maid not to tell his wife, who would never believe her.
He also used language that insulted her modesty and performed an obscene act in front of her. The domestic worker said he molested her again on July 8.
Then, six days later, she was in the shower when he put his cellphone through the window and recorded a video of her.
She told him to delete the clip and later left the flat to call the police.
Ibrahim denied molesting the maid, saying she wanted to return home and had made up the allegations in an attempt to extract money from him before she left.
