To be realistic, the government has already done its calculations and it knows how much more it’s willing to increase – it shouldn’t be much. The other reason is in principle this – is increasing the number of Singaporeans necessarily a strategic economic and political decision? But either way, the government knows it has to do something. But before it does, what can the government tap on so that it can further its cause? If money is not something we want to doe out freely, then what – family values. the demographic patterns of some angmo countries are trending towards duo income no kids.

gay marriages, singles etc..more individualistic lifestyles rather than promoting family lifestyles like having kids.

their population are decreasing fast. That is why they also need foreign talents like SGP.

many of my friends chose NOT to have kids at all....this seems to be the trend in " modern and developed countries".

but the so called " developing and third world countries " are producing like mad....

Singaporeans are especially hit because there are the global factors and there are the local factors. Take away the global ones, Singaporeans will still not produce.
