SINGAPORE: The government is looking into further raising the re-employment age from 65 years old to 67, said Senior Minister of State for Manpower Amy Khor during the debate on the Manpower Ministry's budget.

The proposals, including the appropriate time-frame for raising the re-employment age, will be announced when ready.

Local elderly citizens should be given preference to enter the job market. Let them become financially independent again if they are still fit and healthy to continue working. PR and FTsh should not be given priority over our local senior citizens. If PRs and FTsh are buay song, they can always leave this country. This country should always look after the locals first, not the foreigners whether they are FTsh or PRs. If not, this announcement is just another wayang or cock talk by MOM.

WTF for when aged PMEs cannot find work plus re-hired in govt service or stat board get hefty pay and benefit cuts?
Is govt leading in the hiring of aged PMEs?
MOM let in millions of FT but says only >50 firms discriminated against LTs - can only take action in August... Why so long when the problem has been lingering ard for years already. No wonder they lost votes & will contine to lose a lot more irregardless of bribes in Pioneer package!
Vote out these greedy n useless buggers.

They want you to work till you are dead. There's hardly any needs to raise the re-employment age. The other policies they are having are enough to force old folks to work till the very last breathe.

they want to mess with your CPF again?

VTO them out asap.
