to sweeten the deal, members who play the machines are pampered with free beverages, cakes and even hawker meals FOC. they would spend their whole day squatting there feeding their savings to the machines.

Bud, although I believe that government should only concern themselves with governance, and not business, this society has come to depend on gahmen for everything - including entertainment! (Which should be a private affair). If the members do not want it in their clubs, then raise the issue during their AGMs!! The reason these activities are there is because there is a demand! Right now, I wish to join a group for decriminalization of marijuana, but there is not demand for it. Sad - medical bills will be reduced.
