A JOB advertisement in Singa*pore calling for part-timers to peel bananas for a daily salary of between S$40 and S$50 (RM100 and RM125) has received overwhelming response, reported Sin Chew Daily.
The advertisement was shared and “liked” by thousands of netizens on Facebook, with some joking that the Minions from Despicable Me are ready for the job, while some expressed doubt whether the advertisement was genuine.
A reporter from Singaporean daily Lianhe Wanbao called the number in the advertisement and confirmed that it was put up by an owner of a banana fritters (pisang goreng) stall.
The owner, Alan Lee, 41, said he is in need of an assistant as his mother is scheduled to undergo an eye operation in October.

The advertisement initially showed footage of a sexy woman dancing to a song. Although the breast size appeared to be small, the cleavage was clearly visible.
However, towards the end of the advertisement, the “woman” removed her wig and make-up, as well as the bra, to reveal that “she” was really a he.
> China Press reported that a 20-year-old girl in Kuala Lumpur was mistakenly thought to be attempting suicide when she tried to jump from the second floor of an apartment. She was actually trying to escape a beating by her sister.
The incident happened at about 6pm on Thursday.
Firemen used a ladder to save her after being alerted by the public. The girl claimed her sister was trying to beat her while their parents were at work.
