GMS pressured YSL to quit from WP!

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Hougang, Mr Yaw Shin Leong, has resigned from his party's leadership.

With immediate effect, Mr Yaw will cease to be the treasurer of the Workers' Party (WP).

The 35-year-old will now focus on his responsibilities as MP for his constituency.

This comes after Mr Yaw was embroiled in allegations of an extramarital affair with a female member of his party, who was also married.

Mr Yaw joined the Workers' Party in 2001. He succeeded Mr Low Thia Khiang, WP's secretary-general, in Hougang when Mr Low left the single-seat ward to contest in Aljunied GRC for the 2011 election.

Changes In Workers’ Party Leadership

The Workers' Party wishes to inform the public that at the monthly meeting of the Executive Council on Tuesday, 7 February 2012, the Council accepted the resignation of Yaw Shin Leong from the party leadership. Yaw Shin Leong will cease to be Treasurer of the Party with immediate effect.

The Council has also decided to appoint the Deputy Treasurer, Yee Jenn Jong, as the Party's Treasurer.

Yaw Shin Leong will focus on his responsibilities as Member of Parliament for Hougang.

The Workers' Party assures residents of Hougang of the Party's commitment to the constituency and to supporting the work of their Member of Parliament.

At first, I reserved benefit of doubt for YSL. I was disappointed by no outright denial forthcoming and by now, there's neither benefit of doubt or denial required, not even evidence required as Ram likes to claim lacking of. It has become self-evident. It's also clear that YSL has been sacked from the party leadership position. To Ram who's obviously trying to shield YSL, please don't play semantics again. You don't need to attend IO course to derive at the conclusively obvious.

YSL and the woman involved, mentioned somewhere that her name is Angela but I'm not too sure, were also mentioned to be attending the same church. See what I mean when I go all out against all religions? All are either hypocrites hiding behind lip-service morals but practising sins, or clueless morons blindly following. Ram also professes to be Christian himself. What has he got to say now?

GMS is no better, even worse, professing to be a Buddhist and yet adding fuel to fire all the way to ambushing YSL MPS with reporters to blow the matter up even bigger. The matter may be a sin but it's still a private affair after all. If GMS had interest of opposition unity at heart and wanted to help, or even just be a busybody on moral ground, he should have visited them privately and help them settle it. But no, it's very obvious he's practising vindictive opportunism to cause as much damage to YSL and WP as possible. He's pathologically unfit to preach opposition unity.

I like your point about the church. I once knew a chap who is an avid new age church goer. The choice of "avid" and "goer" is deliberate as it goes to his motives. He loves dressing up and meeting all the chicks. The only thing different is that all tryst is under the cover of "love". He told me that he was not sure if the chicks were doing the same thing.
