Hence there must be very serious reasons why Sg cannot close the border with India. Perhaps it is in the CECA details?

Would the good lawyer look into the CECA agreement and see if there is anything that pertains to that? Also what are the penalties if Sg closes the border to India?

every major agreement or contract allows force majeure or emergency measures to be taken when natural disaster strikes. in this case, a world breaking surge in pandamic cases can be considered a “natural disaster” event. if sinkie authorities can be highfalutin in inventing sexcuses for every unforeseen event, surely there must be a legal loophole (or locally known as lobang) to side skirt or dance bollywood around supposedly ironclad clauses.
