A woman in her 20s was found lying on the floor of a women's toilet at AMK Hub on Tuesday afternoon (May 19), with blood on her head and an e-cigarette beside her.
The incident took place at around 3pm in the basement 2 level restroom. A member of the public who witnessed the scene alerted Shin Min Daily News, describing the woman as having stiff limbs and appearing disoriented. A bloodstain was visible on the floor nearby.
Video footage showed the woman attempting to sit up multiple times but failing to do so before lying back down with her eyes closed. She remained on the floor for about five minutes.
A cleaner working in the area said she heard a commotion coming from the women's toilet while she was cleaning the adjacent men's restroom. When she went to check, she found the woman on the ground.
"She seemed confused. First she was writhing on the floor, then she just lay there motionless, like she had fallen asleep. I was too scared to go near her," the cleaner said.
The woman eventually got up and left on her own. The cleaner said she immediately cleaned up the bloodstain the woman had left behind.
Nearby shop staff said security personnel were present at the scene, and members of the public who had been using the restroom were heard saying they wanted to call for an ambulance.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force confirmed it was activated but found no assistance was required when officers arrived.
