Gilbert Goh said he sobbed and cried after reading being "attacked" by human rights activists like VW. Does he really think people will believe him?

IMO he's just being plain manipulative. This is not the first time it has happened. He treats people around him like tools to be used and discarded when they are no longer useful. This can be corroborated by people who know Gilbert in real life and who have tried to help him before.

If Gilbert really feels he has been attacked by human rights defenders, then respond in kind and challenge them in the open. Go and say you cry and sob like a girl? WTF is this man? KNNBCCB!

Gilbert the cry baby:

  • I have just read (VW's) piece and thanks for the reminder that we should not target foreigners but more on the policies which have stirred up so much misgivings.

Incidentally, Vincent has spoken at our first protest event at Hong Lim park and we appreciate his participation with us on this issue.

First thing first, the movement is targetting against the 6.9 million population white ...paper and unfortunately most of the population boost is artificially created through the influx of foreigners which in turn affects employment and housing. I am not saying the foreigners should bear the brunt of our anger but some people have let loose at them but I am not allowing it here as we should treat all foreigners as human beings like us.

I have deleted many comments on my wall which demean foreigners as its just not right.

I think its not fair to call all of us xenophobe when a few are - please don't lump us together with them.

However, some people have labelled us as xenophobic when we simply go against the white paper and any foreigners or foreign investors who have flout the labour law here.

Both the CEOs of foreign investment La Fondue and Randstad have apologised to Singaporeans for their errant online advertisement posting on the very day the stories broke out on socio political sites.

If they think they are not wrong and did not commit any labour misgiving why must both the CEOs apologised to Singaporeans? One even has to write to TAFEP and MOM to clarify his errant job posting.

We respect the works of these migrant workers' groups and support their great works but we hope that they will support us in ours.

We have been called names many times but we have not responded as online retaliation is not my style and some of them have even taunted us with their cheeky remarks on my wall till I have no choice but to block them.

I have always asked my supporters not to engage in any online tiff with any of our detractors as its so hurting and also because we are afterall Singaporeans!

If we can't work together at least let's respect the works of others - that's common human decency.

We don't go round calling others names just because we don't like what they do...

I urge Vincent to come out for a cuppa when I return to Singapore next month - I rather keep you as a friend than continue this damaging tit for tat which I didn't respond in the first place till now. Both Vincent and Jolovan have asked me to stop the petition but I didn't respond to their FB message as I think we didn't do anything wrong.

Lastly, you are my brother first above all else - I hope we can stay that way Vincent.

Gilbert the GIRLY CRY BABY:

  • I actually cried and sobbed after reading the piece. Its just so hurting and cut through like a knife. Have I done something wrong here I asked? Worse of all it came from a dear friend whom I had meals with together. However, the encouraging words from many perked me up and thanks Singapore I won't give up so easily. We will fight on for a better Singapore.

If LKY can sob and cry, then so can Gilbert Goh.

Gilbert Goh invokes WINSTON CHURCHILL and now talks tough. Looks like Gilbert Goh really learn fast from websites like TRE and TRS .... act cute first then act tough! LOL!!!!!!

They say the greatest battles are not fought with your enemies but rather with your own friends. After yesterday I tend to agree with them.

Yesterday was a long hard day for me as people messaged me throughout the night offering support. I slept rather late and wondered if the journey will be that tough ahead.

Someone mentioned to me about a quote from Winston Churchill saying that if we did something right people will start to criticise us as its making others stand up and take notice.

I am sure the population issue will split the country as there will always be detractors and those who sit on the fence will keep mum until they are directly affected by the foreign influx.

We are glad that we have somehow forced the issue into the open right now.

On a more positive note, we are glad that MOM is investigating those errant job ads and kudos must be given to die-hard patriots who dig hard online looking for evidences to back up their claims. I also want to reiterate that we are not on a witch hunting mission here to take down any foreign companies, if a local company will to do the same thing we will shame and expose them too to the country.

I also realised that some of you are uncomfortable with us asking for the expulsion of a certain Filipino from Singapore for posting errant discriminatory job ads which encourages the concentration of enclave in a work place.

The person is an adult and a graduate with a good sound mind - we can't simply allow others to flout our labour law and get away scoot free. Granted that he may be doing it under the influence of his boss but let this incident send out a strong signal to our foreign workers that when you break our law there is a price to pay. The onus is on them to report the offence to the authorities than to be an accomplice in the crime.

For those of you who want to take on the position of high moral ground, my advice to you is to let us do what we can for the sake of our country and dont label us. We too love our country and we will do our best to safeguard it.

We will want to firstly offer you our hand of friendship at reconciliation but if you push us too hard we will fight back.

If LKY can sob and cry, then so can Gilbert Goh.

I agree with you!!!! not only LKY, PM Lee also cried like a baby in Raffles Place on the eve of GE2011 and because of that, AMK is one of the best GRC performer.

that is the power of tears!

Bullshit Gilbert Goh is an FT in Australia himself. He is nothing more than a fucking hypocrite trying to win sympathy votes and get elected to an 18K salary in 2016

That is the peril of high salary.
If salary is not high, we wont have people like Gilbert Goh?
Then we can have more activist who do not mind to work for the people and by the people.

Finally dug up this thread:

Gilbert Goh was pro foreigner in 2009.

Encourage foreign talent to stay
Tue, Nov 10, 2009
my paper

I REFER to Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong's recent speech, in which he spoke about managing the inflow of foreign talent in Singapore to ensure Singaporeans benefit from their presence.

Other countries in the world are trying to attract talent.

Hence, if Singapore is not aggressive in trying to woo talented migrants, it will face a serious brain drain.

After all, many Singaporeans have left the country for seemingly greener pastures.

Yet, for a small country like Singapore, there is a limit on the number of immigrants it can receive before overcrowding becomes a pressing issue. Overcrowding not only stresses the population, but also lowers the quality of life.

Job competition in a small economy is also challenging.

Compared to the situation five years ago, Singapore has become a more stressful society, due to serious overcrowding and the struggle to make ends meet.

Also, rising prices in the Housing Board resale market may be because of permanent residents chasing after resale flats.

Despite this, there is a role for foreigners here. I agree with SM Goh that foreigners working here should contribute to Singapore, in terms of skills and talent.

There will be those who will come to our country to earn as much as they can before returning home to enjoy their wealth.

It would be ideal if these foreigners remain in Singapore and become citizens here, so that they have a stake in the success of our country as well.

As Singapore continues to bring in more foreigners, let us try to welcome them. Doing otherwise will only make them temporary stayers.

More can be done to ensure that foreign talent remain in our country.

Those who come and go will not really help propel Singapore in the long term.

In 2009 when GG was still an FTrash in Aussie, he was pro foreigner - benefitting his own position.

Now in 2013 when GG is in Sinkeeland, he become anti foreigner - again benefitting his own political agenda.

LOL!!!!!!!!!!

I much rather that 18 k going to Gilbert than to any of those fuckheads PAP maggots and cockroaches
May all of the PAP be kicked out in 2016 and their places be taken over by Glibert and all others who do not wear white

now its the trend to cry to get sympathy mah....

i think it all started from PM LEE, crying in Raffles Place on the eve of GE2011.

Crying was invented and under registered trade mark by Lee Kuan Yew when he tried to be the King of Pan Malaysia and was later kicked out by Tunku Abdul Rahman.
