Leong Sam there's one fundamental flaw with ur statement. At the end of the day it doesn't matter what sound long term investmens they make cause we only get a miserable shitty return of 2.5% over a time span of 30 years which is easily replicated with any government bond or corporate investment grade bond which are transacted freely on the market.2.5% return is like the risk return profile of a 60 year old man,not someone who has 30 years of growth to go.

I heard that too often from my fund managers I used to work with...we do not speculate with our client money...we buy to make long term investments...that will benefits the clients & the company...sheessh!..I am in the wrong channel....buy when they market is hot at a price, that is way above & force to hold for LONG TERM INVESTMENT....& then when it come tumbling down like "jack & jail"..cut loss, cut loss..5%..10%..then write story for client to read thereafter.

The principle is the same...but the principal amount is different ha ha ha...one have to answer to the clients while the other, have free flow money & no need to be accountable for LONG TERM INVESTMENTS & low return rates or no return rates or no principal amount return....if I was a banker I want those money....plus, the 'clients' sign a life time BLANK CHEQUE....free to write any amount..anytime..
