'Cooling-off' day before polling a good move

I REFER to last Tuesday's report, '24 hours to cool off before Polling Day'.
This is a wise suggestion that epitomises Singapore's democratic process of making informed and responsible judgment on election day.
With a cooling-off period, voters can look beyond electoral rhetoric to the real issues that matter, and cast their vote in a manner that is free from all the hype that might cloud their decision.
Democracy is about making informed choices, and I laud the Government for giving voters the opportunity and ample time to reflect on what is important before voting.
