KNN wat were u all thinking? :p:oIo:
STOMPer Issac wondered how this flock of chickens end up on the road divider along Henderson Road, near the junction of Jalan Bukit Merah. "It is really a case of how did the chickens cross the street," said the STOMPer.
The STOMPer was driving through the area when he stopped his car at a traffic junction.
He recounted:
"It was about 1pm today (Oct 8) and I just happened to turn my head and I saw these chickens.
"I was so amazed to see that there were chickens in the area as it is a HDB estate.
"I wonder who put them there.
"The sight of them really gives me a 'kampong' feel about the place."
STOMPer sitonfenz sent in a video clip of the chickens which she spotted and said:
"You can hear crowing in the background, and see chickens roaming on the grass patches beside the pavement and along the road divider. Interesting.
"Like a free range chicken farm. They had been bred for some time, but we never realized that there were so many.
"Regulations aside, what do you think? Should we be allowed to keep chickens as pets?
"What are the responsibilities of chicken owners? Why did the chicken cross the road?
"If accidents occur as a result of drivers having to swerve to avoid hitting the chickens, will the chicken owners and the drivers be liable to each other for damage or injury caused?
"Food for thought - can a HDB flat owner breed chickens for personal consumption?
"Assuming of course that care is taken to put in place proper ventilation, hygienic conditions, and minimum nuisance to the neighbours. A step towards being self-sufficient.
"Those who have not seen live chickens, go down this weekend with your cameras and snap some pictures. Who knows, if you are in luck, you may find an egg or two."
