SINGAPORE: After 25 hours since its discovery, a war relic, believed to be a bomb, was removed near a site where a furniture recycling plant is being built.

This comes after the manager of the site was told on Monday by the police that authorities would not help get rid of the relic since it was found on private property.

Channel NewsAsia understands the relic will be disposed of on Wednesday.

After the landlord of the private property had difficulties getting specialist contractors to remove the relic, police said they informed the explosives disposal unit of the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) to remove the relic.

Police officers and the SAF experts arrived on Tuesday afternoon at the location in Sungei Kadut.

They sealed up the area for three hours and discussed whether to remove or dismantle it on site.

Shaped like a giant bullet, the relic is believed to weigh 160kg.

Police removed it later, but did not give details of where it would be kept or if it would be detonated.

Bomb disposal experts are understood to charge at least S$8,000 for removal.

It is unclear who paid for these costs.

You however had missed the funny part!

:D:D:D

The TV news reported that when the piece of 160kg METAL was found, the FT workers had put in on a pick up truck and dove to a recycling Karaguni Yard. They tried to sell it for money! :D:D:D:eek::*:

But that's before the recycling Karaguni Yard told them that it was a fucking bomb! :p

Their mistake came only after they panicked.

They shouldn't had. The Karaguni Yard should had told the FT workers that they should drive that bomb to Istana to report to the Prataman, and they would be able to then collect $5000 cash reward instantly, worth 10X the Karaguni Yard value!

:D:D:D:D

Solved ALL THE PAP PROBLEMS for once and for all.:p

Those WW2 bombs are made of high grade steel. Only this kind of grade can survive 60 years buried in the soil. The Taiwanese in Jin meng created a kitchen knife industry using all the shells shot over by the communists. And they are the best quality knives for a long time.
