Last Thursday (May 18) there was an assassination attempt on an AfD MP in Schleswig-Holstein. The man suffered life-threatening injuries.

The crime happened in the evening. A group consisting of two men and a woman with a migration background tried to force politician Bent Lund off the road from his Mercedes SUV. According to AfD Schleswig-Holstein, they were traveling on a motorcycle. However, when they failed to push them away, they pursued Lund to his front door. First they sprayed him with pepper spray in the face and then a perpetrator tried to stab the politician several times.

He managed to deflect four stab attempts, but the fifth hit him badly, just missing the heart. He was immediately transported to a hospital in an ambulance and treated. In the meantime, he left the clinic at his own request out of concern for his 16-year-old son.

His son also received the third death threat from the same group of perpetrators. He is now in a safe place and protected.
