Actually bought Genting Singapore last year, when it went under par($1), kept it for a while , monitored the price range & support level.....& sold it when it went way past par...made some money.

"sniff" around & ask.....before you buy....below $1, is good to buy...but, find out on "how low it will get"..before you 'sink your teeth in"....

Genting Singapore reported its result yesterday, profit dropped almost 80%. No wonder genting share price dropped almost 6% or 6 cents.

Was thinking of buying genting perpetual shares that is paying 5.125%.
Or buying the mother share is better?. It close at 0.955 today.

Gentings S'pore will fall further.

The former President of RWS, Mabel Lee granted too much credits to PRC players to gamble and RWS is unable to recover about $1b of accumulated debts.

It broadly means, unrealised loss/gain on derivative contracts, but this loss/gain is recorded in the book.

I don't know what derivatives they got.

SINGAPORE (Bloomberg) - Mainboard-listed Ezion Holdings Ltd. was sued by a partner which accused the offshore service provider of a conspiracy to induce an A.P. Moeller-Maersk A/S unit to breach charter agreements.

Ezion created the impression Atlantic Marine Services BV, which it had agreed to charter oil rigs with to Maersk Oil, was in financial trouble, the Amsterdam-based company claimed in a lawsuit filed last month in the Singapore High Court. A closed hearing is scheduled for June 2.

Atlantic Marine said in the suit it agreed to pay inflated charter rates to Ezion for the rig services provided to Maersk Oil to help the Singapore company secure bigger loans.

The claims are frivolous and without merit, Ezion's lawyer Peter Doraisamy said.
