Anyone review Glassdoor www.glassdoor.com (either before you go for interview or just general kaypoh).

Most of the ratings are below 3 (top is 5), with many between 1-2 rating (over 5).

The most comical is this review of Singapore Business Federation:

"Politics, ancient old hags, fake old gramp"

Pros

The junior staff were generally nice people. Get opportunity to meet a lot of business community. Not a place for those who aren't interested to play the game. Good for first step climbing but wouldn't stay very long.

Cons

The head honcho is a big phoney. He pretends to listen to his front line junior staff and pretends to show concerns but he is self serving and doesn't really take any actions. He listens to his entourage of old hags in high position. Her department is a cost centre but she makes it like everyone else is. She is unhelpful and always trying to sabotage everyone else.

Advice to Management

Change the CEO and the DDs for corporate service. They are toxic..

"Playground of Retired Civil Servants"

I have been working at Singapore Business Federation full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

Bridge to Government and Business. Works delivered through pyramid structure on hardworking staff.

Cons

Politics and Prejudice. Regional traveling with heavy logistics support to politicians and ministers.

Advice to Management

Biased CEO who favors single ladies. Top appraised staff are unmarried women of his favorable age. Also travelled frequently with these ladies using members fees.

Flip-flop decision making process depending on which staff is favoured.

"Emperor, Empress, Eunuchs and Imperial Palace"

Pros

broad spectrum of business activities, close proximity to leaders

Cons

wayang and illogical sabre rattling politics than helping businesses.

Advice to Management

Self-serving politics is obvious to all. Structuring policies to pay CEO and CFO high bonus is attracting negative attention. Favouritism and rearing pets to own ego is a self destructive process.

Weird HODs: one with psychological issues banging table loudly, another who triumph at distort reports to shoot at others. Staff have met HODs to highlight the political issues, but HR entertained HODs by inserting untrue emails on staff at Personal File. Everyone had raised issues at meet-the-CEO session, but he comes prepared with answers to side the political HODs. In fact, CEO even told everyone at Townhall session, "Those who write at GlassDoor is a Coward! Disciplinary actions will be meted out!" Many occasions when HODs can't perform but put the blame on staff, and HR will insert strange email into individual's P-file. Paranoid management who can't prepare to be vulnerable.

CEO operates behind close door listening to eunuchs and gossips to massacre the loyal generals. While eunuchs continued to maimed others behind his closed door sessions. Rear pets and henchmen to hound on others who disobey.

Only Empress, Eunuch or Pet will survive.

You mean the KanaSai Federation? They kept chasing my previous company for membership fee and we just ignore them. In this days and age when companies are still struggling to make end meets, stop paying membership fee to all the stat boards, or was it?
