Mr Gay’s wife is a Filipino Rachelle Ann Beguia who worked as a clerk in the Medical Records Office of National Heart Center. He is currently working as a civics tutor at Tampines Junior College. Using the moniker of ‘Ramirez’, he started a thread with the title ‘Depressing state of Miss Singapore competition” in 2007 condemning the depressing ’standards’ of Singapore women: “Those of you who had viewed the Miss Singapore Universe competition on television who have been amazed…. yes, amazed by the depressing standards of the contest. All the contestants look so……. ‘deformed’ and the eventual winner Jessica Tan looks like my autistic friend.” (read more here) When pointed out by a fellow Filipino forumer that the contestants did not appear to be too ‘career-orientated’, Mr Gay replied: “HA HA HA HA HA HA HA you can see that they possess neither brains nor beauty… the Singapore women.” In a separate thread, he praised the ‘virtues’ of pinoy wives: “pinays are responsible and loving wives… Vilma Santos’ role in the movie ‘Anak’ epitomises the typical pinay wife and mother; responsible, diligent, faithful and fortitudinous… whoever has a pinay wife is very privileged.” (read more here) As a teacher and role model for the younger generation, such comments coming from a civic tutor is completely unacceptable. We call on Mr Gay to issue an unreserved apology to all Singaporean women. If he really detest Singaporeans so much, he should walk the talk and renounce his Singapore citizenship instead of condemning fellow Singaporeans in front of foreigners. With such ‘loyal’ PAP supporters living in our midst, it is little wonder that Singaporeans have remained under the repressive rule of the PAP for so long.
