Gambling den busted at Indus Road

SINGAPORE - Police have arrested one person for operating a gambling den at Indus Road on April 9, 2013. Eight others aged between 33 and 71 were also arrested for gaming in the gambling den.
Officers raided the 2-storey HDB commercial unit and seized twenty computers and cash amounting to $1,160. Investigations against the suspects are ongoing.
Any person convicted of an offence of managing a common gaming house is liable to a fine of $5,000 to $50,000, and shall be punished with imprisonment for a term not exceeding 3 years.
As for the patrons, the offence of gaming in a common gaming house is punishable with a fine not exceeding $5,000, or imprisonment for a term not exceeding 6 months, or both.
