A TEEN girl was left tied, gagged, dumped and drowned in a horrific Muslim honour killing over her “Western behaviour”, according to Dutch prosecutors.
Ryan Al Najjar, 18, was allegedly murdered by her brothers under orders from the father after she had “shamed” the family by having a boyfriend.

The cowardly father Khaled has fled to native Syria while Mohamed, 23, and Muhanad Al Najjar, 25, are on trial for the murder. Khaled will be tried in absentia.
Al Najjar vanished from the family home in Joure, Netherlands six days before being discovered gagged with her hands bound behind her back, ankles taped together and submerged in a swamp.
She went missing on 22 May 2024, before being found on 28 May in Lelystad, about 25 miles north-east of Amsterdam.
DNA belonging to her dad was found under her fingernails, which suggests she had put up a fight.

Prosecutors claim the teen was murdered for simply having a boyfriend and behaving in a way the Syrian family thought “Western”.
They formally designated the murder as an honour crime.
Her brothers, who trial started yesterday, insist the killing was carried out by their father alone.
The fugitive father allegedly sent two emails to Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf claiming sole responsibility and saying his sons were innocent.
But prosecutors rubbished his claim, insisting that he told his boys to snatch Ryan, drive her to a remote spot and leave her for dead in the water gagged and weighed down.
They also say the brothers carried out the grim plan knowing she would die.
Ryan had previously been under police protection, but that ended before her murder.
They have not disclosed why the protection ceased.
Both brothers were arrested within hours of Ryan’s body being found and have been locked up ever since. Khaled remains on the run.
Dutch current-affairs show Nieuwsuur claims Khaled is now holed up in northern Syria, where he has remarried.
The Dutch Ministry of Justice says it has no way of dragging him back, explaining: “The possibilities for criminal cooperation with Syria are currently not available,
“The criminal justice authorities required for this cooperation are not [yet] operational in Syria.”
However Syrian Justice Minister Mazhar al-Wais says the country’s courts are “fully restored”, adding: “will provide the necessary legal assistance in accordance with the regulations.”
He claims Syria has already handled three requests from European nations, but never received one from the Netherlands about this case.
The brothers’ lawyers requested for them to be freed ahead of trial, but a judge ordered them to stay behind bars.
At least five women a year in the Netherlands are thought to need heavy police protection from suspected honour-killing threats, and reports suggest such crimes have risen sharply across Europe in the last two to three decades.
Honour killings are also scarily common in the UK, with previous reports suggesting as there’s as many as one a month.
In 2017, Celine Dookhran, 20, was claimed to have been tied up with duct tape and rope before being bundled into a vehicle, with the court hearing she was murdered for starting a relationship.
The teen, and a friend in her 20s, were then driven to a house being renovated, where builder Mujahid Arshid, 33, allegedly raped them and fatally cut Celine’s throatin an honour killing.
Rania Alayed, 25, was killed by her estranged husband Ahmed Al-Khatib for being “too westernised” in June 2013.
Nazar savagely murdered her in an honour killing at his brother’s flat in Salford.
The twisted monster then spun a web of lies to her family and friends, posing as if she was still alive.
In May, a man who ordered the murder of his niece in an honour killing sued the ITV over claims he also sanctioned her rape.
Ari Mahmod is one of five men serving life in jail for the murder of 20-year-old Banaz Mahmodafter she left an abusive arranged marriage.
She was raped by three of her cousins before being strangled.
He says “honour” murders are acceptable in his Iraqi Muslim culture — but rape accusations have destroyed his reputation.
