well.. the main factor is china... 1.3 billion of their people are causing prices to rise and also jiang zemin directed the china universities to churn out millions of uni grads each year.. you can't really blame singapore leaders for it.. just being objective

Don't forget the kelings from the mainland - they've been the ones to sapu all the white-collared skilled & semi-skilled jobs.

papee just being a piss-ant crony of the west - indulging & serving foreign corporations by selling out local interests, by suppressing wages & providing a large underclass for their factories. Now they're in favour of cheap foreign labour importation, so papee oblige loh.
