The employer uneasy or not used to having a stranger eating and seating next to them eavesdropping on their private conversation?
The employer respects the local Minah culture of not seating at the same table with people who eat non-halal food?
She looks like a new maid; not to worry lah, after a while many become seasoned and know what to do - like slapping, pinching or kicking baby for crying or wetting the bed, making friends with Banglas or Malaysian kawan, calling home long distance and pining to balek kampong !
Some Singaporeans may not happy with the Indon gahment for armtwisting the little red dot now and then - like :
. threatening to seize Spore's telcom companies for breaking their ever-changing investment rules,
. for sudden breaking contracts to sell sand and granite to Singapore companies for its reclamation projects,
. for ridiculing the Singapore people for KPKBing with the little gift of haze from Sumatra forest fires every year,
. for forcing employers to increase enormous pay rise for their Indon maids, etc.
This could be one way of getting back at them for showing little respect to Sporeans. May be they are learning from the Indon Chinese who are lagi worse in treating their Indon maids. That's why during the Indon currency crisis the local Indons targetted the Chinese Indons.
Actually many Sporeans are treating the Indon, Pinay, Burmese domestic helpers well - especially those who have experienced the hard life before the PAP gahment comes into power.
Probably our
BusNo64 captain feels sympathetic towards her because he comes from that generation.
