OFO was used for money laundering. Many rich china kids were posted to work in OFO Singapore.
Their parents needed to send money out of China. OFO Singapore HR hired them gave them simple jobs, working under some capable Singapore staff. These kids enjoyed extraordinary pay and only HR know; these legitimate income were structured in a way that there were minimal taxes to pay. For example, a daddy in China can transfer a few millions to his child as an employee of OFO.
Whether OFO's business was sustainable or not, is another story. I was with their staff when they decided to close Singapore office, these rich kids already got new postings else where, and just pretended to be sad.
