Anyway, thanks bro Moon for posting this. This must be one of the most engaging debates about the immigration policy I've ever seen since they opened the floodgates 6/7 years ago.

The fucking problem is why sinkies talk so much now when it's so late? The country is ruined and now sinkies are blaming Pap and Pap, in turn, tries to defend its past mistakes. Too late.

The SG ppl have make it very clear. They can accept lower growth, and reduce the number of foreigners.

So what's the Govt's response? It's overwhelming!! And very interesting to note that less than 10% want a higher growth rate.

However, the MP Fu, didn't seem to want to make the poll sound that drastic. She said that the poll has to be understood that it is not saying, "we should send all the foreigners back home", but more on the acceptance of a reduced economic growth rate.

But she seems to put the poll into 2 parts. The poll clearly states, "If there is a reduction in the numbers of foreigners, can you accept a lower economic growth rate." Nowhere did the poll indicate we want foreigners to be sent back, so her statements comes as a DUD!

The truth is, SG ppl don't want any more foreigners to come in to SG. And they are prepared to accept a lower economic growth rate, once the numbers of foreigners have been reduced. No mention of sending ppl back, or deporting anyone out of SG.

Now, I wonder how the MIW will try to "appease" the SG ppl.. or just go their own way.. and then I want to see what else will happen, besides more possible rallies and protests.

Sorry I disagree with you. Why do sinkaporeans have to see a figure to wake up?

During the past few years, when they drove/took public transport to work, or stepped into office, or looked at public places ... hadn't alarm bells gone off in their head??

Why wait for 2011 GE to start questioning?

Are we so reliant on what the government tells us before we can trust our own judgement?

Anyway the country is already fucked up now ... you can air a show like this every night and it's still no use. Sorry.

Anyway the "Sinkie low birth rate" reason is a lie.

We have been struggling with low birth rate for the last 30 years. Why did we suddenly allow almost 2 million foreigners into the country in the last 6 years?

Did a lot of singaporeans suddenly die?

The answer is GDP. FTAs signed with India and Pinoyland let Temasek invest in those countries. In exchange, we issued Visas to them. Property sales was also a great money generator for the government. Now our sons and daughters have to foot the bill.

It is true that most sinkies do not know the state of the population explosion covertly caused by the pap. All these years, the pap had refused to reveal statistics on manpower and resident density / number. They started by lumping PRs and citizens under the Resident Umbrella until it is too late.

These evil doers will meet their fate come 2016 since you cannot "screw all the people all the time".

Many Singapore Citizens are and still in denial mode.They don't or can't face the harsh realities or truths in Singapore.The heavy financial burdens or costs of living especially in housing,transport,education and healthcare coupled with very low wage and severe job insecurity have numbed their feelings .Everytime PAP open its mouth on a new policy,there will be an additional cost/expense(eg levies,fines,fees,GST increase,more contributions,..etc)to be incurred by Singapore Citizens.
They just don't want to know in detail anything more about new unjust and cruel PAP policies,they are financially heavy burdened,they are very worried,they just want to get on life daily.They knew they could just make ends meet,the moment they are retrenched or sick ,they will be dire financial difficulties....U die is your business.
Life in this small island with so many Foreigners is already very very stressful and competitive and bursting at the seams just to make ends meet for Singapore Citizens..
And with more and more and more Foreigners allowed to come into this small island to compete with Singapore Citizens for housing,transport,education and healthcare,this small island is like a ticking time-bomb waiting to explode.
No amount of spin doctoring by the MSM can changed the facts.
BTW,WHERE IS OUR SWISS STANDARD OF LIVING PROMISED BY EX-PM GOH CHOK TONG ???

As a business owner; I love immigrants to push up cost of living and push down cost of labour.
But as a father of 2; I am totally against this policy as it will give away Singapore to foreigner.

I think Singapore is trying very hard to be like London. With 80% foreigner and become capital of world capital. The end result locals trying to leave because a Fish and Chip meal cost $20 pound.

It is not late at all. The bulk of the problems facing sinkapore is related to influx of foreigners and the solution is to stop all inflows and kick them out. Of the 2 million foreigners in the country, kick 1.5 million out. That can be done so easily. And it is a good time to do so with the global economy in malaise.
