Years ago my relative went to Germany to get his degree. He came back with a German wife & when she was expecting, she was asked by the Spore authorities to sign a piece of paper agreeing not to seek Spore citizenship for the baby. This was a time under LKY.

My relative was no dummy & was looking for a better place to call home. Many of his friends had moved to a place called Vancouver. He visited the place & found that he liked the place. Bought a home there & came back to Spore to give notice to the bank he was working for & packed his barang, barang & moved to Vancouver with his wife and single child.
