Free Egg McMuffins on March 18

SINGAPORE — McDonald’s will be giving away more than 100,000 Egg McMuffins on Monday, March 18, as part of Singapore’s (and the world’s) largest ever breakfast giveaway.

National Breakfast Day is a regional McDonald’s initiative that will see 5,000 McDonald’s Restaurants in Asia, the Middle East and Africa give away some five million Egg McMuffins in all.

In Singapore, 121 McDonald’s outlets will be participating. Each will give away 1,000 free Egg McMuffins to customers on a first-come, first-served basis.

Ms Phyllis Cheung, Managing Director of McDonald’s Restaurants (Singapore), said: “Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and on National Breakfast Day, we want to energise everyone’s morning and give them the fuel to Get Up and Go.”

“National Breakfast Day is our way of thanking our customers for making a McDonald’s breakfast the start of their day,” she added.

In Toronto, Ontario, Canada, McDonalds has a promotion once or twice a year, where they give free small coffee for a week.
In Toronto, an individual may ask for up to 4 small coffees at one time,
whereas in other cities in Ontario, they may limit a person to one small coffee.

Not all the McDonald's outlets give free coffee refill, whereas there are several whcih provide 4 free coffee refills.

McDonald's also has a coffee and muffin special at $1.39 plus HST, in Toronto.

If just 50% of the 100,000 people who queue up for the free egg Muffin buy another meal item at the same outlet at the same time. MacDonald's sales and profits for the day would have doubled!!
