Close to $4,000 has been raised so far from a crowdfunding campaign for a four-year-old girl who fell four storeys from a flat in Tampines last Friday evening (6 April).

The campaign, which was set up by an Aaron Isidro on YouCaring.com to cover the girl’s medical expenses, has been shared 7,000 times on Facebook as of 6.30pm on Wednesday.

A total of $3,786 of the goal amount of $20,000 has been raised so far.

According to a description of the campaign, the girl was visiting her mother in Singapore, where she is currently working, when the incident occurred.

“She fell from their unit’s window after opening it herself and fell on the ground with her upper back receiving the most impact,” it said. “As per her doctors, she has fractured her arm and lumbar spine, and has internal haemorrhage in her liver and lungs. She is still scheduled for several medical procedures and tests, one of which is MRI.”

It added that the family has been asked to pay a downpayment of $7,000 as of Monday while the total medical bill is “still accumulating”.

Facebook user Bata Ni Susan shared photos and updates on the condition of the 4-year-old girl, whom she identified as Sachi Santelices, on Tuesday.

In her post, she wrote that the girl, who is currently at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital, had “miraculously survived” the fall with “no head trauma”.

“She also currently suffers a broken shoulder, though she is lucid, can move her arms and feet but however can’t sit due to her injuries,” she added.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force told Yahoo News Singapore that it had received a call of assistance at 9.15pm at Blk 836, Tampines Street last Friday.

A four-year-old child was conveyed to Changi General Hospital and the hospital was alerted on standby, it added.

Rich Sinkies already raised $15k for the Pinoy girl liao. Anyone else wanna chip in and pay for the bill of a kid whose parent was negligent?

Yes, i don't understand why Singaporean is willing to cough out so much money to treat this lady.
The parents and her relative should be funding their own negligence, not Singapore.

I hope Singaporean should stop funding and let her call her President DUU 30 or embassay for some tangible help.

Why are they not crowdfunding from their countrymen in the Philippines?

Oh cos we Sinkies are rich and stupid? Fuck them! Why should we pay for someone's gross negligence?! U left a 4-year-old alone in the house, how fucked up is that?

SINGAPORE - A four-year-old girl who was left at home by herself fell four storeys from a flat in Tampines last week and was taken to hospital.

The incident happened last Friday night (April 6) at Block 836 Tampines Street 82.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force told The Straits Times that it responded to the accident at 9.15pm and took a four-year-old child to Changi General Hospital.

The hospital was alerted to be on standby.

ST understands that she was later transferred to the KK Women's and Children's Hospital.

Facebook user Bata Ni Susan shared photos of the girl, whom she identified as Sachi Santelices, and said in her post that the child "miraculously survived the... fall with no head trauma, although her spine, lungs and liver were impacted".

The girl's mother, Ms Jenica Santelices, told The Straits Times on Wednesday that her mother and daughter arrived in Singapore from the Philippines on April 1 for a vacation.

"The accident happened on April 6," said Ms Santelices. "My mother went to the market to buy food and left Sachi alone. The gate was closed and also the window."

Ms Santelices, 24, said her mother returned home after 20 minutes and saw police officers at the foot of the block.

"She went to our HDB flat and looked for Sachi but she's not in the apartment and the window was open," said Ms Santelices. "My mother went down nervously and checked what's happening and saw Sachi on the ground, together with the police and lots of people."

Ms Santelices, who has been working in a restaurant here as a customer service officer for nearly five months, said her daughter "miraculously did not hurt her head".

However, she fractured her spine and shoulder and suffered internal bleeding in both her lungs and in her liver.

"As of today, she's fine, the internal bleeding stopped and we're just waiting for the MRI this Friday to know if she needs an operation," said Ms Santelices. "The only problem is we are in need of financial (help) to support her medical expenses."

She said her husband boarded a plane to Singapore once he found out.

"It's an accident. No one wants this to happen, not even my mother," she said.

What kind of idiot no brain grandmother will leave a 4 year old alone in the house? Why?

The Pinoy has a sizeable community in Singapore. Maybe most who contributed to the funds are Pinoys ?
