Four charged with kidnapping printing firm owner for RM9,000 ransom
KUALA LUMPUR: Four men where charged in a Magistrate's court with kidnapping the owner of a printing company for a RM9,000 ransom last month.
Lee Thiam Kwee, 42, Wong Wei Loong, 35, Ng Wei Boon, 33, all unemployed, and lift technician Hong Chee Seng, 33, nodded their heads to indicate they understood the charge which was read out to them before Magistrate Suzarika Sahak.
No plea was recorded and the court set Oct 4 for re-mention.
The four together with several individuals still at large are alleged to have kidnapped Chung Lim Lee, 53, for ransom in Taman Tasik Manjalara, Kepong at 6.30am on July 16.
They face the death sentence or life imprisonment with whipping, if convicted.
Inspector E. Chandrasegaran appeared for the prosecution while Lee was represented by counsel K.L Yong. The other three accused were not represented.
