Four arrested for snatching handbag
By Tham Yuen-C
IT WAS the wee hours of Sunday, and the sky was still dark.
That is when three teenagers and a woman snatched a handbag from another woman.
On Tuesday, the four were arrested by the police.
They had been at Havelock Road at about 4.25am on Sunday when they spotted a 39-year-old woman walking along the footpath with her handbag.
The three teenagers, all boys between the ages of 16 and 19, and the 20-year-old woman then walked up to her and snatched her $500 handbag.
In it was a diamond bracelet valued at about $5,500, about $150 in cash, a handphone and other personal documents.
Police officers conducted investigations and tracked the four down at the Pandan Gardens and Jalan Kukoh area on Tuesday, when they were arrested.
