SINGAPORE: A former delivery manager employed by Courts was charged in court on Tuesday with corruption amounting to more than S$631,000.
Thirty-five-year-old Andrew Ong Tiong Chiew faces 74 charges relating to graft.
He allegedly committed the offences from May 2008 to March 2011.
Ong is accused of accepting bribes from three men.
In return, he helped them advance their business interests.
The three men are Yap Sze Kam, Managing Director of S.K. Yap Engineering, Low Tian Teck, Director of Ding Fong Enterprises Private Limited and Raveen C, Director of Chanroyal Logistics.
As a delivery manager hired by Courts, Ong was a sub-contractor who hired others to do the actual delivery of goods.
Under the Prevention of Corruption Act, Ong faces a maximum fine of S$100,000 or a jail term of up to five years, or both, on each count.
