Ong’s lawyer, Senior Counsel Cavinder Bull, told the court on Aug 4 that Ong suffers from a “devastating cocktail of medical problems”, noting that a fall could lead to his death.

Ong was diagnosed in 2020 with advanced multiple myeloma, a cancer that affects white blood cells, which are crucial to the body’s immune response.

SC Bull said the cancer compromised Ong’s spine, and a metal rod had been inserted in it. If infected, the result would be catastrophic, he added.

While showing a radiology photo to Judge Lee, SC Bull said the cancer had hollowed out Ong’s spinal vertebrae.

This means that the strength of Ong’s spine has been so compromised that any fall or injury could result in permanent disability or life-threatening injury.

SC Bull added that as a result of his cancer medication, Ong suffers from “intractable and relentless” diarrhoea, which puts him at risk of hypotension and acute kidney injury.

Ong also has peripheral vascular disease of both feet, with a non-healing toe wound that places him at risk of infection and gangrene.

Only fine $30K and no jail sentence ? Very cheap. Very lenient.Very merciful.

Well, what have I been saying all along?

July 2023, OBS is arrested for corruption and bribery of a Govt Official. He knows he is in big trouble because they have already moved against Iswaran. If Iswaran was not guilty, he would not have been arrested. OBS knew as the briber, he will be 100% found guilty too.

Aug 2023, Shan sells his GCB at 6, Astrid Hill for $88 million. After some time on the market with no takers, it is suddenly sold for almost a record price, where every property agent would have said it was worth a lot less then that. And sold to a nominee company so no one knows who is the buyer. The buyer probably is Chinese because of the price $88 million.

So, the question is whether this is all a coincidence or a bribe to Shan for a lenient sentence? The 2 facts to consider is:

1) Why would the Law Minister sell to an anonymous buyer when Singapore is caught on the world stage for major money laundering scandals? Of all people in Singapore, you would think the Law Minister should be beyond reproach in his financial dealings. The only proper way is for Shan to say "If you want me to sell to you my GCB, you must disclose who you are so there is no conflict of interest". But that did not happen. A drug dealer could have bought Shan's GCB and launder his money that way.

2) OBS is notorious for playing with senior govt officials. Remember the Nassim Jade scandal where he gave 5-12% discounts on condo purchases to the Lee Family, including Old Fart and Pinky. Plus he was just caught playing with Iswaran. Is it any stretch of imagination to also assume he is playing with Shan?

Finally, the Judge mentions OBS health as a concern and mitigating factor in the sentencing. Are you kidding me? Since when was poor health used to mitigating a sentence? Singapore has the death penalty FFS. If the govt does not consider the death penalty as a sentence for the ultimate poor health, why would whatever OBS has be considered? So, I guess in Singapore if you are really sick and go out and commit a crime, you would receive a light sentence ALA OBS? What a fucking joke.
