Foreign worker found dead

A 36-YEAR-OLD Chinese national was found lying motionless on a bench at the The Promontory@Marina Bay early on Thursday morning. The foreign worker, who was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics at 6.32am, was spotted by a passer-by who alerted the police. He suffered head injuries, with a laceration to the back of his head. No weapons were found around him. Police said there were no indications that the incident is gang-related. They have classified the case as unnatural death. Investigations are ongoing.

A CHINESE national was found dead early yesterday morning on a bench at Marina Boulevard. The 36-year-old foreign worker was spotted lying motionless on the bench by a passer-by at The Promontory@Marina Bay. He was bleeding from a cut at the back of the head. There were no other wounds on him. It is understood that he was not robbed as his bag and wallet were found, with cash intact, near him.

Several work permits, including his own, were also found in his bag.
A police spokesman said yesterday that they were alerted at 6.10am. The man was pronounced dead by paramedics about 20 minutes later. The spokesman added that there was no indication that the incident was gang-related.
