Foreign lawyers can now apply for exam to practise here

The first examinations for foreign lawyers here who aim to practise Singapore law - in permitted areas - will take place in June next year.
The Singapore Institute of Legal Education (SILE) is now accepting applications. The deadline is Jan 31 next year.
There are more than 1,000 registered foreign lawyers working in joint venture or foreign law practice firms, or other companies here. However, they currently are not allowed to practise Singapore law.
These corporate lawyers, upon clearing the four elements of the foreign practitioner exams, will be permitted to practise in limited areas such as banking, finance and mergers and acquisitions.

Last tum, Singapore only got Limited Liability Partnership. That is why "Limited Partnership" was also introduced way back before the 2011 erections as part of the drive to attract the overseas profession and business. Good or bad:*: For some sinkies, now then find out:o , that's the price for being Bochap and daft.:o
